Behind the scenes: Meet Chloe

Spoon has been a 2-man band for a while but we’ve launched into the New Year with a new, slightly larger team.

Meet our newest member Chloe and find out a little more about her and her mornings.

What’s your role in Team Spoon?

I’m the new intern. My role is mainly social media and marketing, but all bits and bobs really, including the Spoon Eats chef!

Are you a morning person?

I didn’t used to be but since leaving uni I’ve definitely become a morning person. I think starting full-time work has definitely helped. I find it really hard to exercise at any time other than the morning, otherwise it rarely happens.

Favourite Spoon flavour?

It’s gotta be that classic Cinnamon and Pecan, rarely reaches the bowl. I’m a big fan of sweet breakfasts so granola always hits the spot.

Best way to spend a Sunday morning?

I love waking up with friends (and my cat Maisy who I’m obsessed with) after the night before, watching Sunday brunch and then venturing out for some of our own brunch.

Where are your favourite brunch spots?

I went to uni in Manchester and my favourite place to go there is called Federal Café Bar. It’s an all-day Australian/New Zealand brunch café - I highly recommend the ‘Halloumi n’shrooms’ if you ever manage to go! There’s also Evelyn Café Bar, which recently opened just before I left and I luckily got to try. They’re both in the northern quarter which is a great, quirky part of the city, with loads of independent café/bars/restaurants which is exactly the kind of food I love to eat.

As for a bit closer to home, I live in Hertfordshire and there’s a little spot where my dad and I always go called Giambrones. It’s a small family-run Italian café which does the best sandwiches I’ve ever tasted. In London, my sister Jaz lives in Homerton so we’ve tried out a lot of places around there. Last week we tried out The Black Cat vegan café in Hackney which was amazing. It would have to be there, Tiosk or The Modern Pantry.
